Happy Thanksgiving!

I would like to wish everyone out there in the world, a Happy Thanksgiving!
I would like to share how my Family Celebrates this wonderful Holiday.
We start making dinner the day before and we make the pies, and then we do the rest the day of Thanksgiving.
We make our mashed potatoes and we make a traditional Norwegian Food called Lefse.

Then we make the rest of our meal listening to our favorite music.
After dinner, we try and make a point that Thanksgiving is not all about the Food.
We read poems and read stories and we enjoy each others company.
To me, Thanksgiving is a wonderful way to connect with my family and learn about how we each celebrate.
This Holiday is very special to me and it's one of the days that I am most grateful for my wonderful family.

The Mud or the Marshmallow.

To all the parents out there who are reading this, and everyone else.........
If you have children, what do you want for them?
Do you love them?
If you do, then how do you show it?
Do you send them to school everyday for eight hours to sit and be quiet and to be told what to think and what to do and what to say and what to do with their lives when they grow up?
Or do you teach them at home to respect and love others?
Do you scold them every time they jump on a couch.
Or do you praise them for having such strong legs?
Children are pushed down by strong hurtful words.
And they are lifted up by beautiful praises.
Do you want your children to be harmed?
Do you want their self esteem to diminish and fade away?
The schools today have one goal.
To destroy and control the young minds of small children until they are old enough to think for themselves and when that day comes, they don't know what to do except what others tell them to do.
Do you want that for your children?
Children are so precious and so pure.
Its like putting a beautiful marshmallow into a puddle of mud and telling the marshmallow to swim in it and to drink it and to become the mud.
But that wonderful marshmallow has so much potential and so many opportunity's to become whatever they want to become.
So make a decision,
The Mud.
Or the Marshmallow.
They don't mix.

Grounding is so not cool

What is with the grounding?
Parents send their children to their room or a place of confinement when they have done something wrong or said something wrong or have done anything wrong.
My parents do not do any of the sort.
They tell us to say sorry when we have done something wrong and they don't get mad and they don't yell.
I think that is because they know that if they ground you, it will only make you more rebellious and more eager to disobey you and do things wrong.
Well, I think you should let them learn from their mistakes and suffer or enjoy the consequences by themselves.
It is so much better that way.
Don't you think?
On the rare occasion in my family when we had a babysitter, I slapped my brother on the face and she sent me to a room that was dark and scary and had spiders and she told me to sit there and think about what I had done.
Well, all I did in that room was think about how much I really didn't like sitting there among all the spiders and dark corners and creepy stuff.
Then my mom came home and I told her what happened and we talked it out and I understood that what I did was wrong and that I needed to apologize to my brother.
It's so much better to talk things out with the ones that are really close to you and who understand your problem.
Well, that's just my opinion.

MUSIC!!!

I love all music.
it is my pride and joy.
Sometimes the words make me sick but all music is glorious.
Country music is twangy and full of banjos and guitars it makes me want to jump up and do a jig.
Folk music changes all the time and you never know what is coming next.
Pop is bouncy and fun.
Orchestral is beautiful, glorious, heavenly and powerful.
Rock is throbbing and sometimes it needs to be a little bit more quiet.
I love the Piano.
It is what makes me, me.
It doesn't come easy but it is sooooooo worth the effort to me.
true "music" is something that makes you happy inside and it makes you feel pure and clean.
the definition of "Music" is: the art of combining sounds or sequences of notes into harmonious patterns, pleasing to the ear and satisfying to your emotions.
If you don't believe me, look it up, the dictionary's your friend.
So if someone is playing music they think is so totally awesome and cool but it doesn't make you feel right inside, it is okay to walk away, in fact you should walk away. no one is exactly alike and you don't have to be exactly alike.
differences make people better and it is what makes you unique.
don't be afraid of what others might say.
Be yourself.
It's okay.

What do they do all day?

My family is very productive.
We have five horses, nine cats, two cows and five dogs.
We feed them all, everyday and night.
The youngest child in my family is eight years old, one hundred and five pounds and still growing.
My fifteen year old brother is about a head taller then my nineteen year old sister.
We are a strong built family.
We live on whole grains, fruits and vegetables that we grow from our garden.
I feel sorry for all those deprived Children in the world who live on cold cereal that is half sugar and white wheat and other icky stuff.
They sit in school all day and do their homework all night and are exposed to the dangers and threats and abuse that the world offers.
They are allowed to do things at the age of Five that I am forbidden to do at Thirteen!.
Baby's get their ears Pierced, kids that are Fifteen smoke cigarettes after school and they drink alcohol
and iced tea and they have gangs and they do many other terrible, terrible things at a very young age.
Why is all this happening?
What is the world coming to?
My mother kept me and the rest of my family away from all of that by keeping us away from the public schools.
Just think of all the things we could do with our lives if we weren't being controlled by the public school.
And even the charter schools are dangerous.
Keep the kids away from peer pressure and temptations from others.
Save the human race!.
I am NOT! kidding.

I don't care what they say

My Favorite Holiday is Saint Patrick's day.
Why?
Because of the color Green.
I love the color green.
It speaks out to me and I can feel the earthiness in that color.
It seems so pure and calm and silent, yet it can turn into a ferocious force of nature.
Its really funny how most of the girls in the world like Pink and Purple and unicorns and flowers and cute things and fluffy bunnies with white tails and rainbows and cute guys and stuff.
Well, I like Zoro and Battles and fighting and dragons and black and leather and bugs that glow in the dark and awesome amulets and sword and bows and arrows and cats and storms and wind and snow and I have to admit that I do like cute guys also, and it just seems so funny that I am so different.
And being different is not a bad thing at all.
It is actually a good thing.
Why be all the same?
Its no fun.
It has no point.
And it makes us unique and special.
I wear a hat everyday and every night and sometimes I sleep in that hat.
I wear it everywhere I go and its what makes Me, Me.
Does that make sense? probably not.
But anyway you put it, I will not change who I am so that I can be in the "Popular" group.
No matter what anyone says.
So, HA! HA! HA!

What's the point?

The school's in the world today are pointless.
They don't do anything but sit and watch and do busy work.
But why?
What is the point in making all those brilliant minds sit and do nothing for eight hours and five days a week.
Sure they will get into a good college, but what will happen after they have had their education?
The schools should be teaching them things that will benefit them in their future and not just in a college application.
They should be teaching them things like family history, where they came from, they should be learning stuff about what they want to be when they grow up, like dentistry, farming, politics, law, art, world history, or even how to bounce one hundred yo yo's at once.
I want to be an awesome warrior who protects, defends and who fights for justice. So I read books.
Books like Narnia, Lord of the Rings, Warrior Cats, all sorts of things and I learn how to read a compass and a map and more in that category.
But when I am not doing that, I am practicing the piano and becoming better everyday.
My Mother and Father have taught me almost everything I know about the piano and all the other instruments in the world.
My sister has a blog that my whole family does together, Its called the Smith Family Nutworks.
We put videos on YouTube and and we write our own plays and story's and poem's and everything else.
We didn't go to school to learn all that.
We wanted to do that together, and we did.
What I am saying is: Knowledge is power and power is dangerous.
We need to be so very careful about what we learn in this scary world we live in.
I am schooled at home and I am happy.
I love to learn.
It is not shoved down my throat with a ten foot pole.
I allow it to come.
And Knowledge is power.
